Why Octave Intelligence Stock Slumped Today
Investors were reacting to the company's second-quarter earnings release.
Overview
Octave Intelligence (NASDAQ: OCTV), an operational analysis software provider, reported its second-quarter results shortly before market open on Wednesday. A slight revenue miss on analyst estimates, coupled with a modest bottom-line beat, led to a mild investor sell-off. The stock closed the day down by a bit over 3%.
Octave's revenue for the period was $398 million, representing a 4% year-over-year decline. On a brighter note, the company's recurring revenue, widely considered higher quality than the one-off variety, increased by 6% to $283 million. Zooming out, annualized recurring revenue (ARR) stood at $1.14 billion, up from the year-ago tally of almost $1.07 billion.
