Prediction: Microsoft Will Double Its Paid Copilot Seats in the Next 12 Months
Can the software giant keep adding paid AI users at its June-quarter pace?
Overview
Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is selling its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant for office work faster than ever. The company said it finished June with more than 30 million paid Microsoft 365 Copilot seats, up from over 20 million three months before. In one quarter, it gained around 10 million paid seats.
And on Sept. 25, Microsoft announced a rebuilt Copilot app with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint inside it.
Details
I think Microsoft will report at least 60 million paid Copilot seats by the end of June 2027, doubling the number in a year. Getting there would take a slower pace of seat additions than the one Microsoft just posted.
