Nvidia Stock Is Back at Its May Record. Its Quarterly Revenue Is 41% Higher.
The share price is right where it was in May. Is the stock cheaper today?
Overview
Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock is finally back at a record. Shares rose as high as $237.87 on Friday, Oct. 2, inching past the $236.54 peak they touched in trading on May 14. As I write, the stock is near $235, close to its May 14 record close of $235.74, and the artificial intelligence (AI) chip leader is worth about $5.7 trillion.
That means someone buying the stock now pays about what buyers paid in mid-May. But the business they're buying has grown a lot since then.
Details
When the stock hit that May record, Nvidia's latest report was for the fiscal fourth quarter of 2026 (the three months ending Jan. 25, 2026), and revenue for the period was $68.1 billion. Its newest report, for the fiscal second quarter of 2027 (the period ending July 26, 2026), showed revenue of $96.2 billion. Put another way, Nvidia today pulls in 41% more revenue in one quarter, at around the same share price.
